NFL Business Connect

In 2015, Waymer Associates was contracted to create a supplier diversity initiative for the National Football League. The program, named Business Connect, generated event production contract opportunities for event-experienced businesses owned by minorities, women, veterans, persons with disabilities, and the LGBT community. Each member company of Business Connect was identified, vetted, and selected to participate based on their ability to provide subcontracting goods and services necessary for the production of the Super Bowl, Pro Bowl, and NFL Draft. 

The program offered specially curated professional development opportunities for local, diverse small business owners, aimed at helping them gain a better understanding of the NFL’s procurement process, improve their business acumen, and expand their businesses beyond the realm of “the game.” Through Business Connect, local market subcontractors advanced their businesses and learned how to effectively compete for and secure contracts with top-tier event production companies.

In nine years, the Business Connect program was activated in 15 markets, facilitating over $60+ million in contracts for diverse local businesses.
